Born to a middle class Hydran family in the Earth year 2164 in the lost Hydran
colony of New Hope during the height of the Lyran/Klingon occupation, Captain
Chris Lee had a relatively harsh upbringing. Cobbled together from the remains of
old Hydran starships, New Hope was easily destroyed by Klingon and Lyran forces
when Lee was only twelve. Although he and his family managed to escape the
destruction, he would carry many bitter memories and hatreds that would stay with
him the rest of his life.
Later during the liberation campaigns of the 2180s, Lee would serve as a fighter
pilot against the Lyrans. At that time male fighter pilots were not unusual as the
Hydrans did not have the capacity to field many large capital ships. His heroics in
combat led to him being inducted into the Hydran military as a full officer with the
rank of Lieutenant Commander upon the restoration of the Hydran Kingdom’s
independence in 2191.
An established war hero and still considered very young for a Hydran, Lee served
under the command of several great Hydran captains aboard the HMS Ark Royal,
the HMS Hermes and the HMS Valiant. His first command was received in 2231, the
light cruiser HMS Endurance.
His services to the Hydran Kingdom were recognised when he became a member of
the Royal Hydran Armada, a new fleet dedicated to ensuring Hydran freedom in
2259. He was given a new ship, the RHA Red October. (It should be noted that
vessels in the Royal Hydran Armada have their names preceded by the initals RHA
rather than HMS.)
During the General War the Hydrans allied with the Federation in order to prevent
further Klingon and Lyran aggression against them. In that campaign Captain Lee
forged close friendships with several Starfleet captains, most notably Captain
Vaughn of the USS Liberty.
Recently towards the end of the recent War of Pacification, Captain Lee’s most
recent command the RHA Red October-A was destroyed in an unfortunate
confrontation with Federation vessels. This unfortunate incident led to Captain Lee
being assigned a new ship, the RHA Red October-B so named for the distinquished
service of it’s 2 predecessors. Once completed it will be one of the premier vessels
in the Hydran fleet.

An honourable opponent, Captain Lee has been seen to tractor
opponents off the field of battle if he feels he has damaged them enough.
