Gook
Mirak
Arnkell the Plunderer
The man who would ultimately become the Supreme Commander of the Miraki military was born 42 years ago on the Mirak Homeworld. His father, a Sergeant Major in the Miraki Marine Corps, was a highly decorated soldier who saw in his young son the makings of a fine warrior.

Being the son of an NCO meant a comfortable middle class upbringing for the young Gook. Being the son of a Sergeant Major also meant being trained in the ways of war at a very young age. From his father Gook learned all that a soldier needed to know about commando tactics and ship assault techniques by an age when most Miraki children were still learning basic calculus.

Following in his father’s paw steps Gook enlisted into the Miraki Marine Corps at 16 years of age. There he quickly earned the distinction of being able to drink more scotch without going to the litter box than any other Marine in history. His plaque still hangs in the main NCO club on Mraa.

Within five years, Gook had earned the rank of Sergeant. That is when a pivotal moment came in his career. During a commando assault on a Lyran Starbase, Gook’s platoon happened upon a cache of data crystals that had been hidden in the base’s harem room. Bravely Gook and his troops carried the cases of data crystals to the beam out site despite having to fight through a superior force of Lyran warriors. Once at the site, however, Gook ordered his men to beam out without him. Gook then single handedly fought his way back to the harem room and offered to save all of the Lyran slave girls. Facing the Mirak or death when the station blew, the women quickly joined with their new hero. In a flash of brilliance, Gook ordered them to each carry two bottles of liquor from the harem room as they retreated to the beam out site.

Upon his return to the assault fleet’s command ship, Admiral Rath approached Gook and screamed "Son, did you just risk your life, and all the money the Corps put into training your sorry butt, just to bring bag some babes and some booze?" "Yes, sir!" A nervous Gook responded. "Son, you are officer material!" The Admiral yelled, clasping the young Sergeant by the shoulders.

Gook was then placed into Officer Training School where he graduated top of his class. Afterwards, Gook quickly demonstrated a genius for strategic thinking. This plus his unique understanding of commando tactics insured that he became the youngest admiral ever to obtain the position of Warchief as well as Commander-in-Chief of the Miraki Special Forces Team, the Kzinti Assualt Taskforce (KAT).

Warchief Gook is known for his lack of pretense and for his professionalism in the extreme. Given his background as a foot soldier, he is truly a military man who can enjoy having a few with the men. In fact, Gook is well known for his ability to have far more than a few on any given day. Cherished by his troops, Gook’s orders are obeyed to the death. This fact alone makes him a deadly opponent. In battle, he can be rather aggressive as he usually reverts to a Marine’s commando mentality. Kill, kill fast, get out.

Gook has proved to be a strategic mastermind who is not above resorting to sneaky tricks. His easy going nature should never fool the enemy into believing that he is not a predator at heart. The strategic maneuvering between himself and the Klingon Dogmatix during several campaigns are the stuff of legend and are required reading at most military schools. He is one tough KAT to kill.
