As with many future Miraki admirals, Fantric’s childhood was difficult and fatherless. Fantric was born on the family’s small farm located in a semi-arid area of the Miraki Homeworld. His father was killed in one of the many Lyran conflicts before he was born and he was raised by his mother and 17 brothers.
Life was difficult on the small farm. The only crop that would grow in the poor soil was Miraki Cat Nip. After the importation of Terran Cat Nip, Miraki Cat Nip prices plummeted and the family suffered. Nevertheless, Fantric’s family farm was able to scrape by, but just barely.
At a young age, Fantric became enamored with mechanical and electrical devices. He loved to tinker with the farm’s machinery and systems. Unfortunately, however, he was a truly horrible engineer and tended to break anything he touched. One day during his 17th year, and despite his family’s banning him from touching anything more complicated than a shovel, Fantric decided that the farm’s water purification system needed a tune-up. All that is known is that a fire soon started which caused the entire crop of Cat Nip to go up in smoke. The blue cloud wafted away from the farm and settled upon the small valley town nearby. The town had to be quarantined for weeks and the local government was up in arms. It should be noted that the birth rate for the small village rose 396% nine months later.
Give the choice of being beaten to death by the new fathers of the village or leaving to join the military, Fantric chose the military. Being an intelligent lad, he qualified for admission to the Miraki Military Academy where he performed well.
After graduation, he was able to convince his superiors, somehow, that he would make a fine engineering officer. His first posting was as an assistant engineer on the MCS Death Drum under Captain B’Lie. During an engagement with the Lyrans all of the systems poor Fantric had recently worked on failed and the ship took heavy damage. The incident caused a black mark to be written in the Captain’s permanent record.
Under the fine Miraki tradition of "those who can’t should lead" Ensign Fantric was immediately removed form the engineer corps and transferred to the command corps where he excelled. Years later the now Captain Fantric was sent on a mission by now Admiral B’Lie deep into Klingon space. Unknown to Fantric the mission was a suicide mission as well as the Admiral’s revenge. To the utter astonishment of the admiralty, Fantric not only survived with his ship intact but he completed the mission he had been assigned. As a result of his amazing victory, he was admitted to the elite Kzinti Assault Taskforce (KAT) where in his future missions became the stuff of legend.
Fleet Admiral Fantric is currently in command of the Fantric’s Fearbringers war fleet. It is further testament to his skills as a leader that the fleet is still intact and a very effective fighting force despite the fact that Captain J’inn is assigned to the Fearbringers fleet.

In battle, Fantric, reverts to the classic predator technique for bringing down large prey. He will snipe at the prey from long range with great patience; and once the prey is wounded, he will charge in for the kill. The overrun is his preferred killing stroke. Those captains who face Fantric had best be experts in drone defense if they wish to survive.
