Info on Brezgonne:
Appearance and General skills:
Large Bone frame, powerfully built with black fur with dark silver striping. Penetrating Azure eyes. 2.2 meters tall, 180 kg
Somewhat old fashioned in that he normally carries a sword in addition to the standard disruptor side arm. The appearance of the sword is very similar to a terran katana. It is made out of an extremely tough alloy also used in starship construction. The blade is sharpened down to a single molecule to allow it to cut through virtually any material or body armor. He has been extensively trained in the use of this sword. He has also been trained in a type of Kzinti martial arts that utilizes the natural weapons inherent to large cats.
In addition to the two weapons he wears a powerful personal force field designed to operate either on broadcast power or it’s own internal generator. While quite expensive and rare it is not uncommon for people of his standing to wear them (It’s good to be the king/emperor/Patriarch)
History:
Brezgonne and his 3 litter-mates were Born on a secret nursery world used by the Hegemony to protect the children of the patriarch while they grew. The world was also selected fro it’s remoteness as well as a number of other factors. One of the primary reasons was the gravity was twice that of Kzinti standard. While this made things difficult for the kittens it also made them strong. While they were growing up they were all instructed in academics, personal combat and matters of state. This included both of Brezgonne’s sisters. While somewhat unusual it was done as a precaution against accidents or assassination.
On one occasion Brezgonne and his brother set out on a training exercise together. After several days Brezgonne returned alone and reported that his brother had fallen off of a cliff and died.While foul play was suspected no evidence could be found to support it and the princes body was found where the recovery team was told to look. While Brezgonne had been heir to the throne prior to this accident, the lose of the second prince made him the only option for succession.
As time passed Brezgonne showed an aptitude for military tactics and computer skills. These skills were recognized and honed over time until the kittens schooling was complete and Brezgonne was officially declared Crown Prince. After this point the were allowed to go and do as they wished. Brezgonne chose to apply his tactical skills and joined the Kzinti navy where he was initially given command of the DF [i]Longbow[/i].
In his first military campaign he amazingly destroyed Lyran ship after Lyran ship. Eventually he requested, and was given, command of a DF squadron. Lyran command was not oblivious to the actions of this new Kzinti commander and organized a force of no les then three refitted battlecruisers to hunt down and destroy this upstart.
A week passed before this Lyran task force was able to make contact with Brezgonne’s squadron. When the Lyran commander saw that he had been sent to destroy a group of frigates he hailed Brezgonne. He offered him the chance to surrender since he obviously had no chance of defeating the much larger Lyran force. Brezgonne ignored the offer to surrender and began closing with the Lyran fleet.
An hour later it was over. One of Brezgonne’s drone frigates had been destroyed but two of the lyran battlecruisers had been destroyed and the third had barely managed to reach warp before a flight of drones would have finished it off.
Years passed and the number and audacity of Brezgonne’s victories rose until the day the Patriarch decided it was time for his son to take the throne. Soon after Brezgonne was crowned he ordered the formation of an elite task force designed to bring the best commanders and crews together under a single command structure.
While the mechanics of the force were present he lacked a name for the force and there for simply asked the members of this force for suggestions to vote on. Many names were suggested but [u]Kzinti Assault Taskforce[/u] appeared to be the most popular among the troops. While Brezgonne personally thought this name to be rather corny it was acceptable enough to use. Thus the KAT was born. What followed were a number of battles and campaigns that sharpened KAT’s teeth and honed their skills. They won great amounts of territory and prestige.
On one sad day however a rogue Klingon admiral launched a preemptive and unauthorized strike on a Kzinti boarder station. At the time of the attack Snowmane, the elder of Brezgonne’s two sisters was touring the boarder stations with her husband the Duke. While the attack was repulsed by arriving Kzinti reinforcements, the Duke’s ship as well as half the battlestation were destroyed. The Duke as well has Snowmane were killed as a result of the damage. This left their young daughter without her parents. Deeply saddened by the loss of his sister Brezgonne adopted the young girl as his own daughter and raised her as such.
Unlike most Kzinti who have held the title of Patriarch, Brezgonne is not married or had very much romantic contact of any kind during his life do to the constant attacks on the Hegemony and a general lack of time for such matters. This does concern the Pentarchy somewhat since Brezgonne currently has no heirs to succeed him if something should befall him.
