Fathered by a minor prince of the Hydran Royal Family in 2045, Max Power achieved highly in his studies as a youngster. Excelling as a starship officer he led a distinquished military career later retiring to become a teacher at the Royal Hydran Academy teaching the likes of Captain
Janus to fly Hydran ships.
When the occupation of the Hydran core worlds forced him into exile in the 2130s, he became active in the resistance, and is believed to have been behind the design of the Hornet fighter. It is perhaps through this small vessel alone that the Hydran Kingdom was finally liberated in 2191.
Throughout the occupation Captain Power fought tirelessly for the freedom of his people. His finest victory during that time occured when he planned and executed an operation that resulted in the capture of several Klingon D6 battlecruisers in 2173. This caused an outrage within the Klingon Empire and caused the downfall of the Chancellor of the time. The Hydrans put these ships into immediate service and a Lyran advance into the Lost Colonies was defeated as a result.
Power is perhaps the longest serving Hydran captain and spreads his time evenly between teaching at the Academy and captaining his starship the RHA Warhammer, which is as reknowned in the Hydran Kingdom as the USS Enterprise is in the Federation.
His loyalty to the Kingdom is undoubted and when called upon by the Hydran monarch to take a role in the Admirality and led the Hydran fleet during the General War, he did so without hesitation. During this time joined the Royal Hydran Armada and he has also helped recruit many fine captains to serve in the RHA. His peers in the RHA are Captain Lee, Captain Janus and Captain Seraph are but a few known to grace it’s ranks.
Decorated by the King himself on countless occassions, he was recently made First Space Lord of the Hydran fleet after the retirement of Tantalus from the position. Needless to say he is great hero on the streets of the Hydran homeworld.
Power is a well known saber dancer and has been observed crippling even Klingon experts in the tactic. Allowing the enemy to feel the full effect of the hellbore at range, he never hesitates to show the enemy the awesome power of a Hydran alpha strike when the opportunity presents itself. Power is also a master at fighter tactics, and is known to have written several tactical treatises on the subject.
